| Lacking the patience to be a Mage and the brawn to be a Fighter, you decided to be the next best thing: a professional chef. Sadly, your recipe for sauteed cereal bars was unappreciated by the plebes in your tiny hometown of Mudhole, so you became a professional Thief instead. You rode into the city of Burblegroat, and met a shadowy stranger in a hooded cloak who was sitting in the corner of the local bar. He told you about the legendary Ruby Bobcat of Gallston, which is rumored to be hidden in an ancient strip mall near the village of Cabbagetown, and promised you a hefty fee if you could bring it to him. Figuring he wouldn't offer you the quest if it weren't level-appropriate, you readily agreed. You were doing really well until you got lost in a dungeon -- all the walls looked exactly the same! You did find a sweet morningstar +1 in a owlbear's lair, though, and were able to intimidate some gnolls into telling you where their boss's hideout was. Right before they stabbed you in the shoulder. Fortunately, "giving up" isn't in your dictionary (probably because it's two words), so you persevered. You fought your way through countless bullywugs and skeletons -- even a githyanki! But eventually you found the lair of the sinister Shadow Lord Blackfist, and were able to defeat him by knocking him into a gelatinous cube with a lucky critical hit. Bruised but successful, you made it back to the nearby city of Goldthwaitia and claimed your reward.
