An ancient prophecy foretold of a child born in the city of Hamonrye with a jacket-shaped birthmark, who would grow up to be the greatest Wizard ever known. You have a birthmark like that, but at first you were only a sort of okay Wizard. Everyone has to start somewhere, I guess.

As luck would have it, as you were passing through the land of Gallston, you stopped at the inn in the quiet hamlet of Cowpat, and heard the local serf talking about the ancient strip mall that the town had (perhaps ill-advisedly) been built next to, and the fantastic Azure Idol of Screamhammer that was purported to be hidden there. Without bothering to ask why nobody had managed to recover it already, you set out on your very first quest.

You weren't having any problems until you got lost in a tomb -- all the walls looked exactly the same! You did find a sweet "Rod of Lordly Might" (if you know what I mean) +1 in a bugbear's lair, though, and were able to intimidate some gangsters into telling you where their boss's hideout was. Right before they stabbed you in the elbow.

You holed up in a small storeroom with a lockable door, and spent several weeks resting until your hitpoints were back to full. Then, keeping a careful eye out for accountants, you made your way to the lair of Dragon King Xxyrg and the object of your quest. You thought he nearly had you when he summoned a foul carrion crawler to his aid, but you put paid to the beast with your magic wand and knocked the villain screaming into a lava pool with a well-placed kick to the throat. At last, the treasure was yours!
