| As a baby you were stolen from your parents by a band of kobolds and raised in a dark and wild cave. They regarded you as one of their own, but the time came for you to make your own name as a professional Thief. You rode into the city of Cavill, and met a shadowy stranger in a hooded cloak who was sitting in the corner of the local bar. He told you about the legendary Ruby Moose of X'tn'ch'roth, which is rumored to be hidden in an ancient tower near the village of Mudhole, and promised you a hefty fee if you could bring it to him. Figuring he wouldn't offer you the quest if it weren't level-appropriate, you readily agreed. Everything was going great but you soon were confounded by a fiendish depants-the-wizard puzzle, and by the time you figured out to solve it, you were steamed as an underfed hissing cockroach. You holed up in a small storeroom with a lockable door, and spent several weeks resting until your hitpoints were back to full. Then, keeping a careful eye out for jerks, you made your way to the lair of Skull Overlord Grunwold and the object of your quest. You thought he nearly had you when he summoned a foul mimic to his aid, but you put paid to the beast with your magic wand and knocked the villain screaming into a lava pool with a well-placed kick to the lower back. At last, the treasure was yours!
