Life was hard as a young man growing up in the city of New Brunswick, and it became even harder when you had your heart stolen by a cunning, ugly bard. You became a Thief, in order to steal it back (with interest).

In the fiefdom of Shamablamaroth, in the unpleasant-smelling backwater of Cowpat, you found an inn with cheap tequiza and spent the night carousing. There, you heard a tale of the forgotten treasure of the Amber Forests, lost for ages during the time of the great Beige Wars. You decided to seek the treasure yourself, heedless of the literal mountain of skeletons of those who had tried before you.

You had a good handle on it until you got lost in a ruin -- all the walls looked exactly the same! You did find a sweet entrenching tool +1 in a rakshasa's lair, though, and were able to intimidate some goblins into telling you where their boss's hideout was. Right before they stabbed you in the ankle.

However, you managed to overcome the odds (and your injuries), and after a lengthy crawl through a sewer infested with thieves, you finally came upon the lair of the Evil Sorcerer Goldthwait, who was guarding the object of your quest. The evil fiend fell before your entrenching tool, and the land was finally free of his foul shenanigans. You made your way back to civilization, and basked in the glory of your success (and the reward money).
