Inspired by the great deeds of your mother, Hooloovoo McGowan, you knew from an early age you wanted to be a Fighter. After a scant 2 years of training, you were finally ready to seek your fortune in the large, indifferent world.

As luck would have it, as you were passing through the land of Farnsworthington, you stopped at the inn in the quiet hamlet of Dogspittle, and heard the local bard talking about the ancient dungeon that the town had (perhaps ill-advisedly) been built next to, and the fantastic Azure Idol of Goldthwait that was purported to be hidden there. Without bothering to ask why nobody had managed to recover it already, you set out on your very first quest.

You had a good handle on it until you got lost in a sewer -- all the walls looked exactly the same! You did find a sweet crossbow +1 in a mimic's lair, though, and were able to intimidate some dark elves into telling you where their boss's hideout was. Right before they stabbed you in the ankle.

Fortunately, "giving up" isn't in your dictionary (probably because it's two words), so you persevered. You fought your way through countless desperados and orphans -- even a shoggoth! But eventually you found the lair of the sinister Vampire Sorcerer Baaaal, and were able to defeat him by knocking him into a meat grinder with a lucky critical hit. Bruised but successful, you made it back to the nearby city of Llewllamarall and claimed your reward.
